Introduction to the Home Improvement Cast

Tim Allen (Tim Taylor):
His character was known for his grunting noises, catchphrases like “more power”, and love for cars. While portraying Tim Taylor, Allen also starred in successful movies such as The Santa Clause trilogy and Toy Story franchise. He has also become an author, releasing books about men’s interests such as cars and tools.
Patricia Richardson (Jill Taylor):
Besides her role on Home Improvement, Richardson appeared in several TV shows and movies including Ulee’s Gold alongside Peter Fonda.
She returned to screenwork later on with roles in Smallville, The West Wing ,and Law & Order: SVU. At 70 years old, she remains active in Hollywood while also advocating for breast cancer awareness and research.
Jonathan Taylor Thomas (Randy Taylor):
As the middle child of the Taylor family, Jonathan Taylor Thomas played Randy, the intelligent and mischievous son. During his time on Home Improvement, he also became a teenage heartthrob with appearances on covers of teen magazines Home Improvement Cast.
He has since returned to acting with guest roles on popular TV shows like Last Man Standing and Veronica Mars. Now at 39 years old, he is also a director and voice actor for animated projects.

Since the end of “Home Improvement,” Tim Allen has continued to have a successful career in both television and film.
In addition to voice acting, Tim Allen has starred in several TV shows including “Last Man Standing,” which ran from 2011-2017 before being revived by Fox for its eighth season. He also hosted his own reality series called “Tim Allen’s Tool Time” on The History Channel from 2015-2016.
But it’s not just television where Tim Allen has found success. He has also had a thriving movie career since the end of “Home Improvement.” Some of his notable films include “Galaxy Quest,” “Wild Hogs,” and more recently, he reprised his role as Buzz Lightyear in “Toy Story 4.”
Aside from his work on screen, Tim Allen is also an accomplished author.
Despite being very busy with his career, Tim Allen has still found time for personal endeavors as well. In 2006, he married actress Jane Hajduk and they have one daughter together. The couple also enjoys giving back to their community and often participates in charity events.

Patricia Richardson (Jill Taylor) – What has she been up to post-Home Improvement?
After her role as Jill Taylor, the matriarch of the Taylor family on Home Improvement, Patricia Richardson continued to have a successful acting career. She made various appearances in television shows such as The West Wing, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Strong Medicine. In addition to guest roles, she also had recurring roles in popular shows like The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Last Man Standing.
In 2005, Richardson returned to sitcoms with a lead role in the short-lived series The Fighting Fitzgeralds. She then went on to star in several TV movies including A Time to Remember and Christmas on Chestnut Street. In 2016, she joined the cast of the comedy-drama series Pure Genius as Dr. Victoria Lacroix Home Improvement Cast.
Aside from her television work, Richardson has also appeared in numerous stage productions. In 2008, she starred alongside Tim Allen (her co-star from Home Improvement) in the Broadway revival of Neil Simon’s play “The Last of the Red Hot Lovers.” She has also been part of many regional theater productions such as “Steel Magnolias” and “Love Letters.”

Taran Noah Smith (Mark Taylor) – What happened after his role as the youngest Taylor son
After eight successful seasons on Home Improvement, Smith’s character Mark Taylor was written out of the show as he grew too old for the role. This marked the end of his acting career as he made the decision to step away from Hollywood and focus on other things.
One of those things was his education. Despite being a child star, Smith had always prioritized his education and continued to do so after leaving Home Improvement. He attended high school while still filming for the show and later went on to study at USC School of Cinematic Arts.
In addition to pursuing higher education, Smith also invested in real estate projects. At just 17 years old, he used his earnings from Home Improvement to purchase a property worth around $1.5 million in Malibu, California. However, this investment did not go as planned and ended up causing financial strain for Smith.
